Awards
The Eifel-Camp has received many awards for their high standard and
good quality of their offers.
Silver medal at the national competition
The
Eifel-Camp was awarded the silver medal at the national competition
„Exemplary campsites in Germany” at the “Caravan-Salon
2006” in Düsseldorf.
In the framework of the competition funded by the Federal Ministry
of Economy and Technology and in co-operation carried out by the ADAC,
the Federal Ministry of Camping Economy in Germany, the Caravan Industry
Association, the German Caravan Trade Association, the German Association
of Towns and Municipalities and the German Centre for Tourism, the
offer for campers, the marketing strategy as well as the model for
quality assurance and environmental compatibility were carefully assessed.
The result was also influenced positively by the campsite’s
equipment and facilities suitable for many specific target groups
and its personalised support service.
Only campsites, which had qualified by winning the regional competition
organised in 2005, were allowed to participate in the competition
„Exemplary camp sites in Germany”. The Eifel-Camp won
the gold medal in North Rhine-Westphalia’s regional competition.
During the laudation the Eifel-Camp received a lot of praise: ”The
Eifel-Camp pursues the concept of addressing the needs of all age
groups in an exemplary way. Especially the division of the various
specific target groups into different areas of the campsite was achieved
successfully. The campsite possesses a broad range of offers for children
and adolescents. Next to the extensive, supervised holiday programme,
it also offers a skater park, a separated youth room within the gastronomy
area, possibilities for adolescents and separation from other target
groups, and the opportunity to hire go-karts, motor-scooters, motorbikes,
bicycles and mountain bikes. The Eifel-Camp employs an innovative,
multimedia-based marketing strategy, which is also used for customer
retention. A model example of their marketing strategy and customer
retention is their very informative and inciting web page www.eifel-kids.de,
which has been especially designed to address and integrate children.”
Gold
medal
Most recently a gold medal was won at the competition “Exemplary
camp sites in North Rhine-Westphalia 2005”, which was presented
to the Eifel-Camp at the trade fair “Travel / Camping 2006”
in Essen.
Rolf Hartmann (1st on left side), mayor of Blankenheim, and Erich
Schnell, head of the press office travelled a long way to congratulate
the Eifel-Camp. The certificate and the gold medal plaque were presented
to Ernst Lüttgau (3rd on right side), manager of the Eifel-Camp,
and Udo Leunig (2nd on right), groundkeeper of the camp site, by Fritz
Rötting (1st on right), director of IHK Aachen.
The jury’s comments were: “The camp site is organised
exemplarily. The facilities, orientation towards individual target
groups and service offered to guests are perfect. It is clearly noticeable
that the operators identify with the camp site and that the guests’
well-being is their main concern.”
The competition was carried out by the “Fachverband der Freizeit-
und Campingunternehmer in NRW e.V. (FFC)” (trade union of leisure
and camping contractors in North Rhine-Westphalia) and the “Nordrhein-Westfalen
Tourismus e.V.” (registered association for tourism in North
Rhine-Westphalia). The idea is to point out excellent achievements
and to increase the number of high-quality camp sites. The initiative
is funded by North Rhine-Westphalia’s Ministry of Economics,
Middle Class and Energy.
The Eifel-Camp with two further camp sites will represent the federal
state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) at the nation-wide competition
“Exemplary camp sites in Germany 2006”.
Eifel-Camp receives quality certificate
As
part of the event “Qualitätstag Rheinland-Pfalz“
(“Quality day Rhineland-Palatinate”) that took place on
the 27th of April in Rockenhausen, the Eifel-Camp was awarded the
certificate for high quality business by Walter Strutz, State Secretary
of the Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture
of Rhineland-Palatinate. The certificate was accepted by Ernst Lüttgau,
manager of the Eifel-Camp, and Rebecca Schomers and Sabrina Noel,
quality coaches.
The Eifel-Camp is the only camp site in North Rhine-Westphalia with
this certificate. Out of c. 100 camp sites in the Eifel region next
to the Eifel-Camp located in Blankenheim-Freilingen, the camp site
Prümtal in Oberweis close to Bitburg was also awarded this prestigious
certificate.
The Eifel-Camp will also attach great importance to high service
quality in the future to ensure that our guests are happy to come
back.
