The roads close to the Eifel-Camp are recommended as particularly
motorbike friendly by the UEM (European Motorbike Union) and by the
ADAC, and are, therefore, excellent for motorbike drivers. Numerous
small, demanding, winding roads with only minor traffic, and also
many well-built roads supply the motorbike driver with adrenaline
and many smiles.
The valley of the Ahr is one of the most beautiful routes in Germany,
but can be frequently used during the weekends. Individualists choose
one of the many minor roads or stay further in the west (into the
direction of Belgium, e.g. along the river Kyll) where there is less
traffic.
Motorbike drivers, who love small roads and narrow bends, will feel
well east of Freilingen and in the lower valley of the Ahr.
The “Nordschleife” at the Nürburgring
is the ideal location for passionate racing drivers. If there are
no events at the Nürburgring hobby racing drivers can show their
skills on the race track prohibited for public traffic. But take care,
the “green hell” hosts many dangers!
Especially during the weekends and at the beginning of the motorbike
season, e.g. at Whitsuntide, traffic controls aiming at motorbike
drivers in particular are common. Occasional controls take place on
the road B51 between Blankenheim and Tondorf and on the access roads
to the Nürburgring.
