Nürburgring
The Nürburgring, which is located 20 km away from the Eifel-Camp,
is an absolute highlight especially for motorsports fans. Next to
Formula 1 and DTM races several other motorbike, old-timer, lorry
and car type events take place.
The “Erlebnispark-Nürburgring” offers interesting
things to do and a lot of fun for the whole family. Visitors experience
the history of the Nürburgring, among others in a 120°-panorama
cinema and through numerous exhibits such as original Formula 1 racing
cars, motorbikes and sports cars and their racing history. Fun is
provided by racing simulations, racing games and one of the most modern
kart racing track. Reduced price tickets for the “Erlebnispark-Nürburgring”
are available at the Eifel-Camp.
The “Nordschleife” is opened on the early evening during
the week and all day on the weekends from April to September. As the
opening hours comply with events taking place, it is recommended to
inquire exact dates at the Nürburgring infoline (0 26 91/302-144).
Costs for cars and motorbikes are 14 Euro / lap (for the year 2004),
5-lap tickets and annual season tickets are also available.
Tourists are, next to motor sports events, attracted by, “Rock
am Ring”, which is one of the biggest rock concert taking place
every year at Whitsuntide and “Rad und Run am Ring”, an
event for cyclists, skaters and runners and many other big events.
