Bicycling
The northern Eifel is perfect for cyclists: the diverse landscape,
small villages invite to extended stays and again and again castles,
museums and other attractions are located close to the roads. Challenging
ascents as well as easy routes can be found.
The Ahrtal route, which is located 2 km south of the Eifel-Camp is
very popular. The cycling and walking trail is very family friendly,
because it basically comprises cycling and field paths and a former
railway-line. Large ascents, except for a short distance close to
Blankenheim (150 metres of height),
do not exist.
The villages of Freilingen, Lommersdorf and Reetz can be reached
in a few minutes from the Eifel-Camp; Blankenheim (c. 6 km) and Lampertstal
(c. 4 km) are nice tour destinations.
