Walking
The
density of walking trails shows the quality of the Blankenheim region.
Close to the Eifel-Camp the international Ardennes-Eifel circular
trail, the north-south running Josef-Schramm trail (Kreuzau-Trier),
the east-west running Rhine-Rureifel trail (Brohl-Lützig –
Monschau) and the Ahr valley trail (Blankenheim / spring of the river
Ahr – Sinzig / mouth of the river Ahr) cross. Many hundreds
of kilometres of walking trails through forests and meadows are waiting
for your visit!
As the Eifel-Camp is located in the middle of a forest and meadows
you can start your walks directly from the camp. Whether on a day
trip or on a short walk – you can always find new beautiful
places in nature.
The woodland nature-trail circling Lake Freilingen is particularly
popular, and, naturally, the nature reserve Lampertstal, which is
located 4 km away with its unique flora.
A very nice trail leading to Blankenheim
goes along Lake Freilingen and the Weilerbach
in the beginning and along the Ahr later. The walking distance is
7 km.
Nice walking possibilities and tourist attractions are shown in the
walking map no. 12 (Blankenheim / Oberes Ahrtal) and on the roadmap
of Blankenheim. You can get this map at the reception of the Eifel-Camp.
